JUNE-SEPTEMBER 2013

I am SO excited to announce that I will be playing Dora Lee Rhodes in the musical "9 to 5" at Musicals at Richter in Danbury this summer.  This fun musical is based on the film starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, and all of the music and lyrics were written by Dolly Parton herself!  In fact, my character, lovingly known as "Double-D Dora Lee" is based on Dolly.  I am really looking forward to embracing my blonde side and sharing the stage with two close friends who are wonderfully talented - Lauren Nicole Sherwood will play Judy (the Jane Fonda role) and Juliette Garrison Koch will play Violet (the Lily Tomlin Role).  Take the three of us an add in a great cast, a fabulous production crew and a picnic under the stars and you have the PERFECT night of Outdoor Summer Theatre.  The show runs July 5-20.  Check out Richter's website for more info and ticket info and follow me on Facebook to see all of my updates!

ALSO - I am pleased to announce that this fall, I will be DIRECTING the 2009 Tony Award-winning comedy, GOD OF CARNAGE, at one of my favorite local theatres, The Carriage House Arts Center in Norwalk's Cranbury Park.  I'm planning on doing some interesting things with this acclaimed script, so it'll be one you won't want to miss!

Auditions will be July 8 & 9and the show runs Sept 6-21.

Stay tuned for more details!

August 3 & 4, 2012

I will be playing Dr. Linda Meyers in Bridgeport Theatre Company's New Work division Workshop production of an original rock musical called SubUrban Decay.

SubUrban Decay, Bridgeport Theatre Company New Works’ first workshop production of an original rock musical, has been cast and is currently in heavy development.

The cast includes (in alphabetical order): Drew Camputaro, Lisa Dahlstrom, Khallid Graham, Aubrey Kyburz, Emma LaPlace, Maggie Pangrazio, Jason Parry, Kevin Pelkey, Sean Reynolds, Shantal Rhodes, Vic Terenzio, and Melinda Zupaniotis.

The plot:  Newlyweds Kara and Christian want to live the American dream, but what they find in the suburban sprawl of Copper Grove is a nightmare just waiting to happen.  The show explores the effects of media, technology, and paranoia on the unsuspecting residents of a cul-de-sac already brimming with madness...

Development began in February with the collaboration of writer and director Brian Michael Riley and composer / lyricist Christopher Cavaliere.  Based on a story by Riley, the original book and songs are being custom written specifically for the cast of 13.   Rehearsals consisting of scene and character building workshops began on April 1st.

Graphic designer Damon Testani and photographer Michelle Beaulieu have joined the production team at this early stage to start creating the visual world of SubUrban Decay.  Much of their work is to be featured in the show.

The show is slated for August 3 & 4 at the Downtown Cabaret.

April-May 2012 - Mae West Returns to Carriage House Arts Center!

Last May, I had the pleasure and the privilege of portraying Mae West in the amazing play, "dirtyBlonde" at The Carriage House Arts Center in Norwalk.

This year , the same theatre is doing a funny little play called, "...And Then There Was Nun" - a spoof on the classic Agatha Christie murder mystery, only this time, the "ten little Indians" are actually nuns, and instead of normal nuns, they are Hollywood icons.  Mae West is one of them!

I didn't wind up auditioning for the show, but the person they cast wound up having a conflict, so I have been asked to step back into my blonde finger wave wig and bring Mae to life again!

The show runs April 27-May 12 at Carriage House Arts Center in Norwalk.  Click the link for more info and to make reservations!

MARCH 2012

UNBLOCKING WILL

I will be performing in a 10 miunte play called Unblocking Will, by Tom Rushen.  It's a very clever modern Elizabethan twist on Shakespeare and the source of his inspiration.  If you saw me in Sweeney Todd, you'll recognize the Cockney accent!

Falcon Repertory Company presents Unblocking Will along with 8 others as part of "Thinking Outside The Box: A Ten Minute Play Festival" in conjunction with the Bravo! exhibit at the Fairfield Museum, celebrating A Century of Theatre in Connecticut.

"Thinking Outside The Box" will be presented on Sundays, March 4 and 11th at the Fairfield Museum.
